I think JomSocial usability would rocks if ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

    1. Integrate activity stream into the Wall

      1. Merge the activity stream into the Wall. Allow users to comment on a activity.

      2. Allow Admin to configure what is added to the activity/wall

      3. Any participation in the group/photo/video/3rdpartyComponent is shown on the user's activity/wall

      For example, if a friend has started a discussion, it should show on my wall and all his friend's wall.

      4. Change the layout of the group. Put the static information in another tab, and the more dynamic information on the main tab

      We do like this idea too, however the current wall and stream architecture does not allow this to be added easily. We are currently studying how to do this technically, while maintaining existing data.

    2. photo tagging and like features to be fully functional in activity stream and profiles

      1- tagged photos should generate an activity stream with thumbnails of the tagged photos ofcourse with respect to the privacy of the user's photo gallery
      2- tagged photos to show in the tagged user photo gallery
      3- owner of the gallery should be able to untag himself
      1- liking something should also generate an acitivty stream
      2- there should be like a box in the user profile to show what the user like and dislike ..
      3-- clicking on the like icon ( should show who likes this item )
      all the above will make the tagging and liking features… more

    3. allow members to hide their year of birth

      a lot of people would want to hide their exact age and just show their month and day so people still wish them happy birthday .. an option to protect their privacy and this sensitive issue is highly needed in community website.. a lot of people keep their age of birth empty because of this ..

    4. ajaxed search to easily navigate thru profiles and groups

      its not user friendly the way a user navigate thru out the website: for example if i want to see my friend profile, its either i locate his name to click on ( in activity stream or somewhere else ) or i search for it using the search module .. not cool !! and if i want to go to a group im supoosed to go to all groups and click on it ..and you need to use another search for groups !!! thats not user friendly in my opinion .. why not building an ajaxed search module to easily… more

    5. help center

      The issue i find is i have users send me support questions that could be easily answered by a support center much like Facebooks http://www.facebook.com/help. Create a generic Help center that you can turn on that has all the generic help information like facebooks already available.

    6. more botton in user profiles (like the one in activity stream

      you guys developed the more botton in activity stream but couldn't do that for profiles because you didn't want to postpone js 2.0 .. please add this feature to complete and iron what you started .. its even more useful in profiles to check what my friend has done earlier ..

    7. more intelligent activity stream that go according to users privacy option

      phptps thumbnails only show when the photos privacy is set to public so now if the user sets his photos to be viewable to members only ( members of the website can't see photos thumbnails ) and if the pictures are for friends only .. then also friends can't see thumbnails at all !! imagine a friend is not being able to see your uploaded pictures in activity stream .. it kills the idea of closed website!

    9. Reording frontpage sections: should follow order of applications in backend (like Profile page)

      Reording sections on Profile pages is possible on the backend by changing the order of applications. For user experience reasons the front page should follow the same order.

    10. JomSocial Group Point

      When a member of the group do anything like post video, upload photo, etc., the point will be added to the group. so that, the group will be ranked by point from 1-10

    11. Pictures of my Friends

      The Photo Section should have a "Pictures of my Friends" Submenu Link where i can see in a easy way the Albums and Pictures from all of my Friends.
