I have a request for JomSOCIAL. If you could add the feature to your photo gallery section to allow admins to PRE MAKE categories and subcategories which then would allow all users to upload their photos into this categories, then you would have the perfect photo gallery tool. The key problem with community photo sharing is that they get disorganized. With my idea, the community admin can preplan the community and help to pre organize the photo galley focused on the community. Then when users share photos they will select a category or a subcategory for their photos to go into. Now when a person views the photo gallery, they can then easily focus on a category and study photos of the one topic. This makes using the photo gallery better. I know, because I have been running a photo gallery sine 2003 and it now has 9,000 photos in it with 20,000 page views a month. See this http://ipphotos.com Look at this structure and see the categories. The look into one and see the sub categories. These were all set my admin, and users can only upload photos into these. THIS IS WHAT JOMSOCIAL NEEDS. I would like to get this idea built into a Joomla component and your photo tools inside of jomsocial are the best community photo tools so far. I have installed and tested all others, and non do what I have and none are great for communities. Please let me know if this is a project we can complete. Thank you

With Jomsocial, Myblog Jomcomment now available from Azrul it seems that the next perfect app for Azrul to produce would be a social content app like digg. This could be done either as a standalone extension or as an extension to Jomsocial or to Myblog. If it was configurable for voting on blog posts, link submissions or user suggestions that would be truly awesome.

It would be great if JomSocial has a feature for its own like button which members can embed on their sites just like the facebook one. It be also cool if we can make a custom styling and a feature like facebook to be able to see the thing what a specific user had been liked :)

Talking about Apps on JS we all have been curious and eager to have more and more apps as JS matures over time. However this got me thinking; what happens to the profile page if there's too much Apps display? Wouldn't it be cluttered just like we can see now? I mean Newsfeed, Wall, Myblog and JomComment will already flooded the page. Let alone all other like twitters, forums, and what not. I believe it would be much organizer with pagination or tabbed solution. With this I mean there's flexibility of having say; "Azrul tab" to display Myblog and JomComment "Activity" to display NewsFeed or Twitter. I hope you're getting the idea I am trying to bring across. Just something I think better to solve now rather than later while there are tons Apps made for JS and by that time it's too late to change the whole architecture of JS. Also, just as suggestion, maybe this is something that could be done on template level (hopefully), so it would be easier for either the team or users to solve this kind of situation. hopefully this helps.

Please consider implementing a Status like Facebook has, where when you enter a URL it will parse the link and return a small intro text and image from that page, also with Photos and Video (YouTube). I believe this is the one missing feature that would make JomSocial a blockbuster. Virtually all interactions take place around posting links and status updates, then users comment on them and Share them. I would pay dearly for just this one feature alone over any other feature. Please consider implementing. Thank you.

I currently use a combination of Joomla, AEC, and Community Builder to control access to a fan club and it's a pretty "chicken wire & duct tape" solution. Having the ability to control membership fees (weekly, monthly, annual, different levels of membership) and then have JomSocial control access to individual components and content based on what the admin chooses would be a hugely beneficial feature.

The Jomsocial events page is pretty detailed. However, it lacks a weather forecast that could be integrated by the address of the event. A 5 day forecast would be ideal to allow members the ability to prepare accordingly. Motorcycle events are usually weather driven. A member wanted to RSVP may change their mind depending on the weather. The same would apply to any other hobby/sport.

While the groups are a really nice feature of JomSocial, I find them lacking a bit in comparison to Meetup.com --- All you would have to do is make it so that when someone joins a group, they can opt-in or opt-out to receive all wall posts and discussions via email, everytime someone posts. The way meetup works is that if you reply via email, it goes to everyone via email, now I realize this wouldnt work too well, but, if they received an email with the text of what the person wrote, and then was given a link to reply back on the site, which once their reply was submitted, an email would be dispatched to all recepients via email that opted-in, this would make this system MUCH more powerful and rival something like Meetup.com Currently, our organization uses Meetup.com and we have over 150 Meetup.com groups, we're trying to migrate those over to our new JomSocial software and the built-in groups, but it's hard when Meetup.com offers you the ability to receive the messages in your email, negating the need to logon and check all the time. I'm fine with having to post each individual reply on the JomSocial system, but, receiving an email notification when someone does reply would be HUGE. It would work just the same as the "Bulletin" feature, just let people opt-in or opt-out, I don't think this would be a huge issue to add! Please add it! We have a community of 5,000+ people already!

For example there is a tag-new.jpg used to show when new emails have been sent to you. The only way to translate this is by editing this picture, but it will only work for one language.

First version is NOT compatible with iphone and symbian : impossible to upload photos, wall posts do not work, errors in pop up windows, group joining does not work This is a MUST for a social application which has to be reachable from any mobile browser

This would be similar to the Photo App but would allow users (students in my case) to upload documents. All documents would be considered private unless they had been shared. Sharing could be one of two options: share with everyone (something that instructors might like), share with specific users (like a student's instructor). Of course, a quota could be set for each user that would be separate from the photos quota. So there would actually be two separate views: one to upload and share a document, and another to view the documents that had been shared with you. For this second view, it would be helpful if not only could you see the entire list, but also if you could tick which files you wanted to download at the same time, and then have the app download a zip file containing all of them (this would save clicking for instructors).
