user points with better 3PD integration
Current karma system in JomSocial seemed unpolished, and one can only wonder how many they got right now/ how to earn more / what others have.
Presently when we go to our profile, we were presented with only how many karma we have. I would prefer having a POINT system instead.

Points should be given for every action! Submitting video via Seyret / HDVideo / joining a group / adding a myblog post / or even commenting!
Admins SHOULD be able to set how many points given for each action and this should be configurable via apps/jomsocial plugin.
Thus, 3PD developer will be able to create new apps for jomsocial (to integrate their component) and in that apps, they will specify point-worthy actions that may occur via their component.

After developing a few rules of my own using AUP, I can see why JomSocial Team would be a bit reluctant to do this, maybe it would be best for them to allow do the integration as suggested, if not they would then have to do an API so that actions on other components can send rewards. So I opt that they allow the points system be 3rd party with AUP. Then use AUP for everything else.

This would be a great feature. The ability to customise the value of each action is great too. I'd really like to see the abiity to 'spend' points - so a member can cash in a number of points for a free gift or something, this would be administered by admins. I think the whole system would be better off being part of JomSocial as opposed to being a third party component.

I think using AlphaUserPoints from http://www.alphaplug.com/alphauserpoints.html this is already up and running with Joomla 1.5.x and it works great! Super easy to write XML Plugins for anything on the website. Check it Out!

Registration page to have a AUP coupon code field where users may submit a coupon code during registration to redeem additional points.
Registration coupon code field can be set as Optional or Mandatory by administrator

Well, its should be part of 'better 3PD integration'. Current activity stream also is badly designed. What happened to big sites was, when a user post an action, sooner later his stream gone fast, coz lots of other updates from users. Look at how facebook does it. almost perfect me think.

While points integration with 3PD components is great, I think that integrating these components into the Recent Activity Feed is even more important.
