Wall automatically parse media links (youtubes/mp3s/avi)
We know that AllVideoPlugin tags {youtube}{/youtube} / {mp3}{/mp3} can be used in JomSocial, but for non-techno savvy users, IT IS A BIG HASSLE - both for the users to learn, and for admins to teach.
Thus, I suggest that the Wall for Profile and Groups (and even in discussion) will automatically parse direct link like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iras8WCX51U
into a video, without having the need to use codes / tags.
The same goes to mp3s / avi / jpegs / any other video sharing site.

Will this also work for links? For example in our community the members will want to share articles(links) from other sites... now these links are deadlinks... would it be possible to have them paste in the link and get the image and preview/link of the article and post this on the wall? Kind of like how facebook does it? This would be VERY interesting.

Sunsetdriver, I like your comment. I would like this to be built into the core, and it would be great if it could be used in Groups for example. I guess as groups uses the Walls application, then it should work.

It would be nice if this were much like Facebook... Parse the link into a small representation of the video. Linked to a slick lightbox.
That'd freakin' ROCK!

Are we sure JomSocial should be allvideo plugin-dependant? Why not building a built-in plugin inside JomSocial's core files?
