Professional chat component integrated with jomsocial
What we need is a professional chat component that is easily integrated with jomsocial. I am not talking one on one either, but a community based chat component that can handle multiple rooms and has the ability to be custom styled by way of CSS changes.

Sookachat is not a good option. It's addon for jomsocial. The Jomsocial software must have its own a built in chat. Requesting more money for chat option in social network script is really bad!

I looked at both chatroll and cometchat (previously JBolo but there is no chatroom option).
So far, I am leaning toward cometchat. For starters, the recent reviews of chatroll (up to 250 users for $49-seems to have branding on everything) bring up concerns plus the demo page had transparency and other issues on my computer.
I didn't find outside reviews on cometchat in my short search but the demo worked well for me. They have the $49 version but for $129, all the branding is removed and I didn't see a user limit. They offer specific documentation for JomSocial integration.
I installed BoWoB on our site and so far it has not worked... plus the registration stuff on BoWoB was annoying.
I'd love to hear other experiences! -

Everybody, there is a product called CometChat. http://cometchat.com/ No module or component. just put the javascript code in you template php file and you add friends, instant integregation with jomsocial, chat with your jomsocial freinds or have a group chat with an inbuilt chat room. you can customise look of the chatbar which is much better than facebook. have a look at my site and see how i done it -
