Please provide the functionality of adding the embed code manually while linking the video.

1. User upload the video on JS site
2. The video is sent to the video hosting service
3. The video is visible in the web pages

This should be fairly easy to do as there are many scripts out there that could be hacked into JomSocial, just like the Clip-Share video sharing script did or PHPMotion. Currently as far as I can tell, there is no way to tell the upload progress and thus any visitor who has no idea what's going on is going to just think the browser crashed - it doesn't even say it's being uploaded!

Without it, video uploads are useless in my opinion.

What you say about adding option on JomSocial for mass import from youtube and other big video website ?

Like.. import from a youtube user profile..
import from a youtube playlist...
import from a youtube RSS feed ..

etc

Think that would make a great addition for the video section of jomsocial. Just about every other video component has a rating system why not jom social.

its better to tweak the process of seyret and have the input <add video> appear on users profile ! This way the video will be automatically inserted into seyret database and appear in the users profile the same way ! Also seyret currently support over 30 video providers ! SO it a hell of a tweak !!!

Streaming videos from hosted sites and own servers can be bandwidth hogs. Kaltura.com offers free 10GB Monthly Streaming and 10GB upload space. More is available cheaply. They also offer extensive API support at kaltura.org. Would love to see Kaltura integration into Jomsocial as an option for video uploading.

Allow Everybody to view videos but only registered users to play the videos.

Show related videos just below the video on the right side of the comments section while viewing the video

We have users who upload videos to our site, however they are all different sizes. With more and more people recording HD video in 16:9 ratios, if we set our video size to any other size but 640x360 (16:9), the video is stretched out to match that resolution.

Some videos look great, others look not good.

Please implement a method of automatically figuring out what size the video uploaded was, so stretching or shrinking is not necessary.

Instead of making members go thru 2 different steps to add a profile video... why not just have a checkbox in the link video popup that allows them to automatically assign the video they are adding as their profile video.
