Add a filters so people can find the events they are looking for.

Events by categories:

Jazz | Rock | Hip-Hp

Events by date:

Today | Tomorrow | This Week | This Month | Choose Date

This should be working in both ways.

Only by category, only by date or category + date

For example i would like to find the events for Jazz - Tomorrow.

My site is an events website, and I love JomSocials new events and event search feature. But it would be really great if you could turn their current advanced search and simple location search feature into a module. Maybe in the backend you can select which search boxes show up in the module.

The Jomsocial events page is pretty detailed. However, it lacks a weather forecast that could be integrated by the address of the event. A 5 day forecast would be ideal to allow members the ability to prepare accordingly. Motorcycle events are usually weather driven. A member wanted to RSVP may change their mind depending on the weather. The same would apply to any other hobby/sport.

Not all countries have are friendly to google maps in terms of location in the map.

It would be nice if you make it easier by letting the event creator to pinpoint the location of the event.

I have used this option in Jreviews and it is a great service to have for countries which are not friendly to google maps location geo-tagging or at least allow input of altitudes.

Since you’re already working on paid membership how about adding ticket sales for Events rather than relying on a 3rd party plugin? I’d like to charge my subscribers a minimal membership fee and then charge separately for the events they wish to attend. It would be nice to have this fully integrated into JomSocial.

Integrated events venue list for users. Users may select venue from this list or enter new venue like in joomla Eventlist (schlu.net).
Why? The venue list is very good for the SEO. I have all venues registered in Google and many visitors comming from there.

Group Buying is all the rage with people these days. I looked at modifying the Events feature in JS and thought, "How hard would it be for the JS Team to create a simple easy to use Group Buying feature, that has a similar interface to JS Events. Nearly all the features are in Events, and with some new features, JS users could have their own Group Buyer feature.

I have a Group where people can register and this Group has a couple of Events along a year. This Group wants to invite users and non-users to to take part on this Events.
Beside the possibility to make Events in Groups, comes the second step which is secondory to have a Newsletter like system to invite people.
But first Making Events in Goups is important.

Could we please get an API hook for Adding Friend and Removing Friend? This wouldn't cause any unnecessary server load because it would only be called on the user's action.

I am working on some really cool integration features for 3rd party apps, but I need to be able to hook into this system event.

Event module to display jomsocial in a module

The events feature is good but can be better. Please add reoccurring events and also group events and group calendars.

It would be great if an event could belong to multiple categories

should see a button with a window open a googlemap, then the user goes to the location of your event ... then when he accepts. close the window and in the location field stores the point coordinates ...

you could use a second field for the name of the location is

then the official map of the event plugin with that coordinate and not guessing a possible adress

The event system is really great but we do need a timetable system in it...
For example there is a event with artist ore speakers.
It schould be very easy for event owners to add this timetable.

12:00 : jomsocial development talk (link to speaker)
13:00 : joomla whats new (link to the speaker)

in the 'LOCATION' section of 'CREATE A NEW EVENT', allow members to select from a list of REVIEWSFORJOOMLA events...

Is this a JomSocial or a JReviews EVERYWHERE issue?

All the event catgories currently have the same icon/image (microphone) I would like to be able to change the image for each event category.

Why not create a plugin for EventsList, to show ones events that they offer, or plan to attend and have already attended

if I have already added an event to Facebook, or any other web site for that matter, there's a URL already associated to the event.

I'd LOVE to be able to add a URL to an event listing!

It's especially popular with promoters and venue owners, as it helps them get more targeted link-backs!
