It would be great if JomSocial has a feature for its own like button which members can embed on their sites just like the facebook one. It be also cool if we can make a custom styling and a feature like facebook to be able to see the thing what a specific user had been liked :)

live updates like in social engine
also in built comments and likes where if somebody comments an activity live notifications will be sent to the user on the site without sending e-mails
i mean who reads e-mail these days :!:

It would be far, far better if this was a field in the JomSocial admin panel where we could enter in our own text or html (so we can add an image etc). At present it means editing various sections of the language file using ftp and we can only customise the text not the look or feel.

It would be go to have this also in JC.

Currently, the Activity Stream shows activity items which occur from within JomSocial only. If someone uses usual Joomla articles for blogging instead of JomSocial's blog component (or the like) this should also show up in the feed of activities.

Add a filters so people can find the events they are looking for.

Events by categories:

Jazz | Rock | Hip-Hp

Events by date:

Today | Tomorrow | This Week | This Month | Choose Date

This should be working in both ways.

Only by category, only by date or category + date

For example i would like to find the events for Jazz - Tomorrow.

A new page for rating, where users can browse profiles and photos and can choose like or dislike. When user choose like/dislike he goes to next profile or photo and rate it, then goes to the next and so one...

Ability to define relationships types. So everyone is not just a "friends" Relationships between people can be defined for what they really are.

The jomsocial sites are much slower compared with other social networking component!
so i sugest jomsocial to most of their content with ajax!
which dosnt load the whole page to get some update!

Currently users are able to change their profile type (multi profiles) whenever they like. Admin should be able to set whether users can change their profile type so that they cannot change their profile type after initial selection.

It would be useful if you could add an option in birthday to allow hiding the year of birth but keeping the day and month ..a lot of people would wanna hide how old they are but keep their day and month so people say happy birthday to them ..

The issue i find is i have users send me support questions that could be easily answered by a support center section much like Facebooks http://www.facebook.com/help. Since Jomsocial already knows and has allot of support material, if they can create a generic Help center that you can turn on that has all the generic help information like facebooks for using profile, groups, photos and so on. All the dat should be pre loaded so you can install Jomsocial turn on the help center and everything is done.

It will be amazing if you develope more options for newsletter (like facebook) all the users came back to their profile only if the have notifications about every kind of activity made by others

I want an option so that when a member logs in, it only shows him pictures and videos from friends and not from strangers and with the activity stream when we click friends only it should show only friends and not an option there saying "show all" i think it will be a good tool. So when a member logs in all he is seeing is all about his friends stuff and not from people he dont know.

basically the Email alerts that are sent out are very bland and generic. Looking deeper I find that these are hard-coded into the software instead of being database side with a type of WYSIWYG editor to customize these templates through the back-end. I'm sure that many people who like customization of their site would like to also be able to manually customize the E-mails sent out.
Perhaps make a way where themes can be used that have email templates in them that overrides the hard-coded defaults.

Integration with JReviews or adding possibility of creating Venues (places) to events. So events will appear in user profile but also we will be able to to find more about venue and see what other events are happening there.

The application description is contained in an XML file inside the plugin directory.

Since these descriptions are "Jomsocial" branded they are incongruous with the theme of a custom website. If users read the description they may be confused as to what they are referring to.

This means that every time an upgrade is applied one has to rewrite the application description from scratch.
I always customize those descriptions in the XML file but the process is tedious and time consuming. It would be great if we could save those custom description somewhere where they would not be overwritten each update.
