I think JomSocial usability would rocks if ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

    1. its files are compressed

      my site gets a lot too heavy cos of huge no. of files of great size of jomsocial. Please compress those files and reduce their no. too if possible. more than 70% of the assets load is of community jomsocial

    2. Support Arizona Time in Events

      Add "Arizona time" in your timezones for Events? Arizona doesn't follow day light savings. For example through March 11, Arizona follows mountain time, but after day light savings time in March, Arizona changes to Pacific time until October. Rather than requiring events in Arizona to switch back and forth between PST and MST depending on the time of year, it would be nice if there was a separate option for Arizona Time. This will be very helpful when 2.6 comes out with reoccurring events.

    3. scripted installation

      We certainly need a scripted installation on the server without going through the browser. There I sit on a slow DSL line and I have to download the installation file to my local computer, then upload it again to my server during the installation. Much better to have a terminal to the server, do a wget to the latest release and be able to run a script on the server to install everything - INCLUDING all the modules and apps. It is aggravating to have to manually install each and every mod and plg every time an update comes out.

    4. documentation for included components and modules

      Jomsocial comes with some components and modules. There is no documentation for these at all. Some of them only work with specific versions of Joomla and others are completely pointless after JomSocial 2.4... The next distribution should include a readme for these files.

    7. Add Facebook friends as JomSocial friends after initial Facebook Connect

      When a user currently signs up with Facebook Connect, they are all alone on a new website. After the initial Facebook Connection, the new user should automatically become friends with their Facebook friends. A single FB API call will give you a list of the user's friends who are using the current app so this would be pretty simple to implement.

    8. ajaxed search module for asier navigation thru profilem,groups,events .. etc

      now if you want to check your friend profile, you need to locate his clickable name( not friendly ) you want to check a group you can't just type it up and go .. we need a friendly way to quicly navigate thru profiles and pages .. we really need one i think to encourge people to brows more things in the website

    9. software/unit testing like facebook twitter and all world class

      In order for Jom social to compete with the worlds best sites we need to address the concerns of the users the way the worlds best site do! Notice that when a error occurs in facebook or twitter you get a message pop up saying something like "OOPS there seems to be a problem our engineers are working on it" We at Jomsocial need to have a system in place which checks for errors live as they occur and lets our users know that the problem is being addressed.     10. Separate out the user profile from the wall

      In the profile page, separate out the wall and information of the user into different tabs.

      Because when I view the profile of my friend, I already know his information. I am clicking on his profile to see his wall.

      Could put the information of the member on the right column or in a different tab.

    11. Admin ability edit profile type selected

      I can find no way for admin to edit the profile type selected by a member? In cases where a member has selected an inappropriate profile type, it would be good for admin to be able to alter this.

    12. Help System, User Manual Based on Features Enabled

      The biggest thing about websites they are all different, though jomsocial is like several major social sites, it has it own thing, If we had a Help system, or How it works system that users of our site can see how to do things, it would be great, though one key feautre is the help system would be based off what features are enabled on our jomsocial instance... cool graphic representation would be great...
