What I am looking for is that the user registers the account via Jomsocial and gets automatically a free membership (without adding additional user information). Then when the user wants a paid membership only payment details (PayPal) should be stored. Only user with paid membership should have access to restricted pages/menus.

Many people on the forum are hacking core code to turn redirect off. Can an option be included in the login and logout redirect dropdown that says "off."

Webmaster may forbit the avatar upload and offer an avatar gallery for free use. Users can select an avatar from gallery.

Eg you have 3 user types/profile type. These should belong to each own ACL group .

One could be the standart "Registered", the second "Teacher", the third "Professor".

In that way you could grant different access to a forum or other tools that support access per ACL group.

This feature shouldnt require a 3rd plugin you need to pay.

Create more streamlined, focused, visually pleasing, and easier to navigate templates for the JomSocial profile.

Possibly use the tab setup as seen on Facebook, allowing for the Admin categorize where to place information, as well as making the new-and-improved wall the focus of attention on the profile.

I want to Enable HTML in a Custom Profile Field, so that the users can embed/post their music players from reverbnation/elsewhere in it and have it show on their page. (I already know how to have it display the field on their page, but I can't enter html)

Curently admin has no control over which fields are accessible to visitors and registered members. In some cases admin might want to restruct access to certain fields to members ONLY - but this is not possible in JS (it is possible in CB).

Custom fields are great.. but it seems to me we can only add them into the 'About me' application/tab , and they are also shown only in 'Edit Profile' and cannot be moved around.
This is a great solution in CB, and has always been lacking in Jomsocial.

A simple searchbox that works like an ajax search module that will find friends first and then also search users... Just like facebook search....

Jomsocial UserPoints are cool but AlphaUserPoints are much cooler! And AUP is a free component. So I wish we could have an option in the Jomsocial backend to use builtin Userpoints/karma or AlphaUserPoints.
AlphaUserPoints's API is more flexible, it allows dynamic points amount for attribution, has referencekey for each point transaction, and has a badge/medal and ranks system integrated. It'd be really lovely if you could just let people choose. Today using AUP with jomsocial requires hacking dozens of files...

If you have a large site with diverse focus and members, it would nice to be able to display member profiles based upon variables selected using the various custom fields as options. For instance, display users with business interests on the business pages, musicians on the music pages...etc.

Users should be get a pointshop. For userpoints should be giving new features, apps, groups, for example more pictures in their albums... A pointbank page was very nice, user should be able to view add points, minus points or purcases of himself.

I am using Jomsocial on a church website. Some people feel funny about using the name "Karma" points so I have turned the feature off. If I was able to customize what they were called: Activity points, Spirit points. I can also see this being useful to someone providing a specific service or product. If they it was a forum for a sports team, the could use the mascot name: Tiger Points, Trojan points, etc.
